Ababu hints at leaving ODM

Bungoma - Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General, Ababu Namwamba has hinted that he might consider ditching the party.
The Budalangi MP on Saturday held a closed door meeting with over 48 MCAs from Western Kenya at Kakamega Golf Hotel.
Speaking to the MCAs who hailed from Bungoma, Vihiga, Busia, Kakamega and Trans-Nzoia Counties, the vocal legislator said the vote rich Western region has no future in the ODM party.
“Ababu told us that he is increasingly getting frustrated in ODM because the party is becoming a Luo Nyanza party. He said as a region, we need to explore other political strategies before the 2017 elections,” an MCA who was in the meeting and who requested anonymity told News24.

Ababu has in the past one month hit the news headlines over corruption allegations.
Last week on Wednesday, the national assembly adopted a report that disbanded the PAC and sent Namwamba packing. It was agreed in the floor of the House that the Budalangi lawmaker be barred from the new PAC team that will be constituted soon.
Leaders from Western Kenya read malice in the hounding out of office of Namwamba, and some questioned the silence of the top ODM leadership including Raila Odinga after it emerged that the MPs who wanted Namwamba out were from within the party.
