Ababu ends silence, supports referendum

Nairobi - Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba has finally ended his self imposed silence and pledged support for the CORD proposed referendum.
Namwamba, a vicious CORD and Raila Odinga supporter has been silent in recent weeks and conspicuously absent from recent rallies and meetings.
There have been questions over his dissapearance, with some suggesting his displeasure with the direction the party is heading in, but he has come out to rubbish those sentiments.
But speaking in Funyula over the weekend, he insisted that he is fully behind the party and will see to it that it succeeds with calls for a referendum.
" I think it is necessary to have a referendum, he said. The country needs it. The government has shown it is not capable of doing things right, he said.
He also dismissed notions that the referendum push would lead to chaos.
" There is no chaos involved. That is propaganda being peddled by the Jubilee coalition. All we want is to ensure that things are right in Kenya once again, he added.
There have been steep divisions within CORD over the referendum push, with some calling for it and others steering clear of the debate.
CORD insists that issues such as the electoral commission IEBC, insecurity, nepotism and grand corruption can only be dealt with through a referendum.
