Ababu backs Raila presidency in 2017

Nairobi - Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba has said he will work on ensuring Raila Odinga becomes Kenya's president in 2017 if he becomes ODM Secretary General.
Ababu is currently campaigning ahead of the upcoming ODM polls, where he is vying for the post vacated by the retiring Anyang Nyongo.
He is in a two way fight for the position with another highly fancied opponent, Nominated senator Agnes Zani who is also a front runner for the seat.
Ababu says he is confident that he will land the seat in the elections and says his mission is beyond just taking on a senior party role.
" My hope and vision is to lead the party in the right direction and ensure that Raila Odinga is the next president of Kenya come 2017, he said.
" The scenario is that we need the party to grow and improve in places it suffered in during the 2013 elections. I can do that and I'm confident it is achievable, he added.
Ababu was speaking in Vihiga Sunday, where he was meeting a group of ODM delegated ahead of the poll.
The elections are slated for Friday 28 February 2014, elections which many analysts say will make or break the party's ability to front a successful challenge on the presidency in 2017.
