Baringo - A group of AP officers have been dispatched to the cattle rustling prone area of East Pokot in Baringo County to continue with the ongoing voluntary disarmament exercise.
The deployment comes just a few days after another group of APs were dispatched to the area in May this year were recalled back to Nakuru for a short leave.
Baringo County Administration Police Commander, Elisha Yalo Odhiambo, Thursday said that communities involved in cattle rustling have responded well to the disarmament exercise.
He further called on County governments to continue working with Central government in fighting the vice in Baringo and other parts of the country.
“We want to finish this menace of cattle rustling once and for all and that’s why we are sending this team,” he said.
Yalo however called on those still in possession of illegal arms to surrender them before the government embarks on forceful disarmament.
