Nakuru - Two administration police officers were Tuesday night arrested along the Nakuru-Nairobi highway while ferrying bhang worth KES 200 000 inside a police van.
The two officers attached to the Kuresoi AP camp are believed to have been transporting the bhang from Molo to Nairobi where they were heading to pick up their boss.
Confirming the incident Wednesday morning, Nakuru police boss Bernard Kioko said that the bhang was hidden inside three charcoal bags and police officers stopped the vehicle after being tipped by someone.

“Highway patrol officers were tipped that a police van was being used to ferry bhang from Molo to Nairobi and they laid a trap and caught up with the van at the Salgaa trading center with the two AP officers and a civilian on board,” said Kioko.
He added: “The bhang was hidden inside a charcoal sack and we believe it had originated from the Mau forest. We are holding the two officers and the civilian as we launch investigations, and shall present them in court as soon as we can because we already have the solid evidence.”
