AON sponsors Bamburi Rugby series

The forthcoming Bamburi Rugby Super Series tournament has received a financial boos after insurance firm AON announced their 1 million shilling sponsorship. AON also sponsors Manchester United and were also part sponsors of the Safaricom Sevens las year.

Presenting the cheque at their Nairobi Ofices, AON Sub Saharan Africa Chief executive officer  Joe Onsando said that they were happy with being involved with the tournament adding that they are glad to be part of its growth.

“We are pleased to be associated with the tournament as the official sponsors to the tune of 1 Million Kenya Shillings. We are happy that the involvement of well wishers like ourselves has helped the growth of sports in the country. We will continue with such initiatives to impact positively on the lives of young people”, he said.

Aggrey Chabeda who is the chair of the tournament says;
“We have seen this tournament grow from three teams in 2003 to the current eight and this is something positive. We want to thank AON for the amount they have chipped in.”

AON also insures the players and spectators apart from trheir monetary sponsorship. The insurance arrangement started three years ago.
The tournament starts on May5th and runs all the way to June 2nd. The tournament will be played across 5 different venues; Nairobi RFUEA grounds, Nakuru Athletics club, Kampala RUFC grounds / Kyadondo, Mumias Sports Complex and Mombasa Sports Club.
