A primary school teacher in Nanyuki town is nursing injuries after being attacked by thugs who also stole his motorcycle.
Wilfred Nyingi, the deputy head teacher at Mt Kenya primary school was attacked by a thug who pretended to be a customer at Stadium Estate in the outskirts of Nanyuki town.
Speaking to the media, Nyingi said that a middle aged man asked to be taken to the estate at 8.30 Pm, where upon arrival turned on him.
“I picked him at the Nanyuki main bus park where he said he did not know the exact place where he was going but was communicating with another person over the phone” said the teacher.
Nyingi said that he talked with the person on the other end over his customer’s mobile phone where he directed him where to take his guest.
It is after arrival that his “customer” removed a knife from the pocket and ordered the teacher to lie down.
Nyingi said that both the men tied his hands and legs with a sisal rope, robbed him money, mobile telephone, documents and the motorbike.
He was cut with the knife on the left hand as he tried to resist.
It is a blow to the teacher as he was trying to earn an extra coin through bodaboda business while teachers countrywide are on strike.
He reported the matter at Nanyuki police station where he was informed that five motorcycles have been stolen in Nanyuki town in the last one month.
Police have said that they are investigating the incident.
