15 May 2012, 12:14Kelvin Wanjohi

A middle aged man has been sent to jail for 18 months jail term for having a roll of bhang worth shs 10 at his house at the Kenya Police Training College, Kiganjo.

James Mwangi Maina was said to have been found with the drug when police raided his shop and house at the college at around 9 am on May 13.

Prosecutor George Ayuo told the court that police had received a tipoff that the accused was selling drugs at the college leading them to carry out a search in his shop and house. The search was rewarded in his house where they got one roll of marijuana under his mattress.

The roll was used as exhibit in the court before Chief Magistrate Wilbrodah Juma.  He admitted to the charge before the magistrate who ordered him to serve one and half years in prison.
