A good woman doesn't get the best man

Nairobi - I like church, I like the Bible, I like the Lord’s word and
I also like the idea of judgment day. BUT, nothing annoys me more than the idea
of a pastor/ priest telling me I will get my heavenly rewards! What? When?
It is like they always have that one statement whenever you
are grumbling about being nice and doing your due diligence. Let me tell you
one thing about me, whenever I am doing my due diligence, I am not hoping for
anything heavenly but I am hoping for karma to remember it too and do its due
diligence. Let me explain. I do my acts of kindness at times just because I can
but at times when I see the elderly struggling I see someone’s parent and I am
hoping that when I am not there or around to help mine, someone who is there
will. If I see them looking for a seat in a public transport, I will get up and
move to the back so that they do not struggle. Am I hoping for heavenly
rewards? No! I am hoping that if my parents are in the same predicament someone
will stand up and move. I like my
rewards staying earthly because this
is where I am residing for the moment.
This gets me to my next point which will annoy some people.
Off late women are complaining that other women of meager
morals, character, standards-basically loose are getting to the alter faster
than the opposite. True! I agree! Being and thinking like Michelle is nice but
at times Michelle has to take a back seat. I have been talking to this guy…okay
it was more than one (this is how you sift through the garbage) and while I was
at it, I was playing the Virgin Mary. It is cold season, so I would stay in the
house and read a book while sipping on something. Basically not going out and
being a little more extra-curricular with myself! I would think should I go out
and the merits of saving that money, so staying in would win over going out and
being beaten down by El Niño. So
yesterday I ask this man what is up with him because a woman can tell when something
is up. There is a problem with men these days because they are acting like
Juliet and we should be Romeo. He starts telling me how I am giving him
attention. I did not know when you gave me your number I was meant to ignore
you. I have no time for those silly games. He is acting like a little Juliet
because I am not playing hard enough.
It is at this point that the pastor would tell me I will get
my heavenly rewards for not misbehaving. As much as the idea of marrying angels
is nice, it is not very practical when you are on earth and living on borrowed
time. Earthly rewards make more sense here. I want a man who is nice to me,
respects me and what I do for him, treats me nicely like I treat him and is
conscious of my effort among other things. Love is an afterthought; I never put too much
stock in it. Are they there? Yes they are, thing is they are getting married to
the women someone will think have no morals.
Women like me, the ones who apparently have no morals
because we do not stick around and wait for one man to waste our time. This man is so lucky I have roster because he
is going to be checked absent. I can never allow someone to waste my time. I
have to have a classroom full, bad behavior on my part I know. Look at it this
way, if I concentrated all my energy on getting it right with this one man I
would be so devastated by what he told me. I was hurt because I made an effort
but this is how class works. Chew gum, get kicked out! Miss a couple of
sessions, get tuition and remedial, maybe! The ones who pass are the ones who
make effort. He wasn’t so he is getting kicked out. I move on.
That is what I call
rewards, when I still have a classroom even though one felt like he did not
need to be in school. Pastor will not like it but pastor will not marry me
Then after I wrote this article I went on Instagram and
guess what the first thing I saw was; Colossians 3:23-24. Is this how God works
in mysterious ways? Now I have to go pray because I do not need that kind of
karma but that man is still getting kicked out of class though.
