Nairobi - 8 people have been arrested for taking part in protests against the enactment of the controversial Security Bill in Nairobi.
The eight were arrested in the precincts of parliament for causing disturbances to public proceedings.
The eight are being detained at Parliament, Kenyatta International Conference Centre and Central Police Stations respectively.
They were supposed to be a part of the #Occupy Parliament demonstration team that had been called up by opposition leaders to protest the enactment of the security bill.
According to police sources, the 8 and any more that will be arrested will be arraigned in court Friday.
The arrests continued as members of parliament exchanged blows in the house as they debated the bill, which has caused divisions within the house and in members of the public.
