657 suspects arrested over Eastleigh blasts

Nairobi - 657 suspects have been arrested as investigations continue over the Eastleigh terrorist attacks which left 6 people dead.
The attacks which took place Monday night in the busy neighbourhood, left six people dead and many more injured as the assault on Kenya by extremists continues.
According to interior cabinet secretary Joseph Ole Lenku, the suspects have been arrested and will be arraigned in court to answer to terror related charges.
" We have arrested upto 657 suspects as we continue investigations into the attacks, he said in Nairobi Tuesday.
He did add that police are following leads on potential reasons for as well as the real people behind the attacks.
" We have leads, several and are following them. We will have more news as time goes by, he added.
As for the intensity and regularity of the attacks, Ole Lenku denied reports that the government was unable to do it s job and that it had failed in its mandate to handle security in the country.
" It hurts us more than you think for these attacks to happen as they are and we are thus working on it. We are confident we will stop them.
He also insisted that the police are on top of things, saying that they have already foiled several planned attacks in the country in recent weeks.
