1) Don't communicate
Communication keeps the contact close which is not healthy after a break up. Avoid texting, meeting and calling in all means and if it is necessary like maybe giving back something you still had let a friend do it on your behalf. Avoiding communication will help you heal faster after a break up.
2) Don't give up
Being hurt is painful and breaking up is not exceptional but don't ever give up in loving again and in fact take good care of yourself better than you did before and pursue the things that makes you happy. If a door closes look for an open widow there might be a bigger and a better thing. You will definitely find a better person.
3) Don't be friends
Allowing yourself be friends is keeping him or her too close to you and it will keep reminding you that they broke your heart and thus renewing the pain. Avoid them as much as possible, don't meet them until you have completely healed and moved on.
4) Don't pretend that all is well. All is never well when you have been left so don't hold on to the bad feeling just pour your heart to a friend who can give you a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on for a problem shared is half way solved. Cry and mourn the pain out it will help reduce the stress.
5) Don't seek revenge
Letting go can be hard and you can feel so hurt to an extend of wanting revenge, but don't go for revenge because it will poison your heart with hatred and bitterness which is not healthy for you. Hold your head high and spend your precious time and energy on people and things that matter because revenge can never heal the wounds of a break up.
