4 things not to say on your first date

18 December 2014, 16:39 Shakila Alivitsa

Nairobi - You go out on the first date, and you are thinking that everything turned out quite well and you are already planning how the next date is going to go but you never hear from your Mister again. So what went wrong? There are things that you do or say on your first date that will make an impression to the guy on whether you are worth the next round or a pass.

What you say: You have cheated before

Rule number one of most dates is never to go on and on about your ex, but at times, it comes up and you are sked what went wrong. Even if you did cheat, do not talk about it. Just put it off until a time comes when you really have to be honest about it and your reasons for it; and this person knows you well. Because rule of thumb is if you cheated before, you will cheat again and someone does not want to enter a new relationship worrying about a nobody being a somebody.

What you do: Being too desperate, needy and available

There is a reason people do play hard to get. No one wants to end up with a person who was just bored at the moment, needed a fling or was tired of being single. No one wants to deal with such emotional upsets because desperate people are only in it for the first few moments of fulfillment up until something new comes up and they have filled the void.  And also, men do like a chase, if you are not it then you steal the thunder from him

What you talk about: The ex, your miserable life, your boss

There are those people whom life has picked on and they live a miserable existence. Worst part is, they never stop talking about it and they want to share the misery with anyone who comes into contact with them. If you are on a date, then there is no quicker way to send the guy packing. Because guess what, he has an awful time too at times and he goes out with you to find something that is enjoyable and fun so as to take a time out from all that.

How you act: Rude and impolite/ your need to be pampered

How you act with the people providing you a service when he is around will clue a guy in on your character. If you are one with outrageous demands and discourteous then that is how he will see you treating him when he does something for you.

If you are one, who goes out expecting to eat in a restaurant which serves dinner with five fork and ten spoons all the time, then guess what, you are also out. Because believe it or not, the wealthy get tired of that arrangement too. If he cannot relax with you, then there is no reason why he should continue seeing you either.
