4 things married men should NOT do

03 February 2016, 18:59 Shakila Alivitsa

Nairobi - The married Kenyan man is a very dangerous species in my opinion. The other day I told you how I heard a couple of them talking about how when another woman is going after him is not stealing because he can now have as many as he wants. You can do what you want, as long you just don’t like breathing or living; but to each his own. Even the best of them are always up to some Tomfoolery; you just have to catch them because they are really good with trickery and coming up with lines.

Why do you have to keep picking numbers when you are already taken?

Just as you have the option of taking that card or napkin with another woman’s number and sliding it in your pocket; you also have the option of leaving it on the table.   Technically, you are allowing for cheating in the future in your relationship because that day you have an argument or your wife is giving you silent treatment; you pick that number and start flirting with, ‘Karanja, the plumber (this is why women call random numbers on your phone)!’

Why do you have to flirt?

Especially with someone you will have to keep seeing-colleagues, co-workers or employees are people you should not have too much personal contact if you want to avoid cheating.  Flirting with a stranger is sort of different because you just don’t see them again but co-workers? Not such a smart move and that is how you get rained on with blows. It happens once innocently, then again and again until you decide to have an innocent drink, an innocent talk and eventually an innocent ride to drop someone home.

Give a woman you are no related to money

I am not talking about charity or a beggar on the street but that woman you usually have petty talks with while at work. Then one day she says she has no credit and next time she is behind on her rent; then next time she has no money for hair. Then she will offer to cook you lunch for your generosity and what do you know? That is how men end up in tricky situations. If that money is bothering you so much in your pocket; help it cool its heels in your wife’s possession at least.

Spend too much time out of your house rather than with your wife or family

If that was the plan; then congratulations, you are making a good job out of it. I am not saying you do not deserve some time with your comrades or you weekends with the boys but do learn the art of balance. Wives do have a problem with it, when you never even set aside one weekend to spend and have fun with her. Your wife is not fun? Then why did you marry her. What you do not do, some other man will help you do, no matter how not-so-good-looking you think she is. There is a man who will be out there eyeing her and noting your absence. He will zone in on that and by the time you realize when all your friends decide they need time with their other halves, yours will not be available. Congratulations, you played yourself!
