3 things not to accept in relationships
07 December 2015, 16:25
Nairobi - There are some things you should not accept in relationships.
Being stuck in a
situation because you are too worried about the things that could go wrong
Being in a bad relationship but sticking around because of
being dependent on it is an understandable situation. A mother who cannot leave
her husband because he is the breadwinner and she has no job or a woman who
cannot leave her boyfriend because he is her boss and he might just fire her.
Both situations explain why a lot of people remain in a bad situation because
if they did they just might not have anything else afterward. Starting over is
hard but you have two choices to make; leave and weather the storm and you will
eventually figure it out. Or stay but reconcile yourself to being miserable as
long as you are with that person.
Once someone has power over you, they never forget it don’t
expect them to change.
If you do not want
something then be firm about it
No greater words have been said than, ‘No, but….’ You want
someone to respect your decisions but you are always giving them an impression
of how fickle they can be. ‘No, but if
you think this is better…’ ‘No, but I understand where you are coming from!’
When you keep negotiating with someone, they will always
argue their points to you because they know you will relent. Keep allowing it
and it will extend to other areas of that situation you have going on.
If you do not say what
you want, then how do you expect to get it?
That is the question! You cannot say that you are in a
relationship with someone, yet you are afraid of saying some things to them,
asking something of them or clearly speaking your mind. What type off
relationship is that? At times it is never the other person but just you.
