3 reasons women marry late

08 September 2015, 19:04 Shakila Alivitsa

Nairobi - Women get married late for a number of reasons. Here are a few.

She is waiting for God’s will and sign

There is nothing wrong with having beliefs or lack of them (if you choose). But for a lot of ladies, especially those who are notoriously religiously inclined take things a bit too far. When it comes to the men they see and date, they hold them to a very high standard in Biblical terms that they never seem to even reach the cut off mark. One small misstep and if she does not feel like there is a sign or if it is not God’s time, she lets go of very good men thinking that there is something better in the works. After all, we are all meant for a promise land. After a while, all the men in church have married other ladies. All of those she turned away have moved on and she has also created a bad image where she is seen as to thinking of herself as too good for any one. By the time it hits her, she has progressed in age ad that is where desperation sets in. She ends up settling with the nearest person around who is not as good or even close to the one’s she rejected.

Miss Waiting for Mr. Right

Almost like the church-lady. She is thinking of perfection when it comes to dating and the man she expects to marry. Thing is, reality is never what your expectation is. She keeps rejecting men because she is thinking, she deserves much better and she can get much better. If he does not have one thing on her list, the he is not husband- material for her. This goes on and on and on until such a time when she realizes she now has to settle down. She no longer has a pool to choose from but latch onto anything before it gets too late to even have children.

Miss I do not rush into anything

It is good to take your time especially when it comes to making long-term decisions like marriage. Where she goes wrong is not giving a chance to dating. She expects that the man she eventually dates should be the one she eventually marries. She loses out on prime chances of meeting the right people and getting to know them because she makes a process out of everything. She ends up settling on the guy she has known for a while because, technically, she has no roster to pick from.
