3 dating tips for divorcees
25 January 2016, 18:36
Nairobi - Maybe you are a divorcee or a widower or just single but
have children; dating for you will not be easy. No matter how you think your
life is in order; when people see children coming with someone they see chaos
in their life. It is not your fault but just how things are.
It will be hard for
you to get even first to second dates the minute someone knows you have kids
People just don’t like the idea of children, especially
small ones to teenagers. They can deal with divorcees or widowers with kids in
campus or older but they know that is they take you on, they are taking on your
kids too. You want to explain they are not but they actually are.
They will always look at a relationship with you
as extra financial problem
Happens mostly if your other half is no longer there or they
have just never been supportive and you take care of everything yourself. If it
is a relationship that ends up being serious; a household expense with more
than one kid for someone who has never had any is a turn off. You will say that
you will take care of them yourself but that usually just colours over the
margins until they are actually contributing 50-50 when they can just avoid it
and date someone with no children.
They have emergencies, they drop in on house date nights
unannounced, they want to stay in the bedroom with their mum, they want to eat
part of the special dinner and they also just want to go out with you.
Relationship with a person with kids is a relationship with every child that
comes with them. Not too many people are comfortable with that, hence opting
for someone who does not have all that going on.
