Nyahururu Police have made a major stride following the fatal attack of a business lady by arresting the three suspects involved in the saga in Maina village, Nyahururu District.
Nyandarua North police Chief Benjamin Onsongo said the suspects confessed committing the crimes and even produced two mobile phones belonging to the deceased and her daughter.
Daughter raped in turns, sustained fracture
The suspects allegedly entered the woman’s newly built bungalow in Ziwani estate along the Nyeri - Nyahururu road where they stabbed her and also attempted to rape her daughter in turns as she attempted to escape.
The 17 year old daughter attempted to flee and sustained a fracture on her leg before the suspects finally cornered and raped her outside their gate.
She is recuperating at a local hospital although she was yet to recover from the traumatic ordeal she was subjected to by the gangsters.
Nyahururu Police hotline
Onsongo said that the arrests were made after the police circulated their new hotline (0773-118-841) to residents of Manguo and Maina estates.
The telephone hotline will be operating on a 24-hour basis and the police are urging the community to cooperate in order to reduce crime in the area.
