A 22 year old man committed suicide in unclear circumstances at Irinda village in Ntakira location in Imenti North District after disappearing from their home on Monday.
Area OCPD James Kithuka said the body of the deceased Kenneth Mutugi was discovered the following morning at around 10am by his father Joseph Kiremi M'Kireria dangling from a tree within the compound and was removed to Meru Level 5 hospital mortuary.
The OCPD said investigations over the incident have already been launched and appealed to anybody with any information over the incident to forward it to the provincial administration to enable the police establish the motive behind the suicide.
Following the unprecedented suicide cases witnessed in the district recently, Kithuka has urged resident to embrace dialogue instead of succumbing to anger.
He also urged the youth to desist from drug and alcohol abuse which he suspected might be the cause of many young men attempting and committing suicides in the area.
