Nakuru - The 2017 general elections will be a walk over for President Uhuru Kenyatta if CORD leader Raila Odinga contests, an ODM MP has said.
Nakuru west MP Samuel Arama said that Raila is handing UhuRuto an outright victory by insisting that he will be on the ballot in 2017.
Arama said that Raila poses no threat to Uhuru and it will be an exercise in futility for him to contest against them.
Speaking Sunday in Nakuru town, Arama called on Raila to hand over the CORD ticket to someone else if he wants the coalition to remain relevant in Kenya's politics.

“2017 will be a walk over for Uhuru if Raila will be on the ballot because he poses no challenge or threat to them and putting him on the ballot will be an embarrassment to the CORD coalition and himself,” said Arama.
“If he couldn’t beat Uhuru in 2013 when he was still in government as the prime minister, what makes him think he will beat him in 2017 when Uhuru is the president?” he posed.
“If Raila wants CORD to remain relevant beyond 2017 then he should pass over the baton to a different person who has the strength to battle it out with Uhuru,” he said.
Raila has insisted that he is not ready to give the CORD presidential ticket to an outsider amid reports that he was considering endorsing and supporting ANC leader, Musalia Mudavadi to fly the CORD presidential flag in 2017.
