Nairobi - Kenyans will wonder why and how a 20 year old man would be plotting to kill a member of parliament, rather than building his life.
When Samuel Gachamba was named as the suspect arrested by police over the murder of former Kabete MP George Muchai, the quick question from many was his age.
20 year old hired killer?
Deep questions for the societal types.
Gachamba was arraigned in court Friday to answer to charges of murder, but police, who say that they are yet to complete investigations have asked for 14 more days to probe the murder.
Gachamba will thus be held at the Muthaiga police station, will return to court on February 27 after the magistrates court granted them the extra time.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery said Thursday that police were holding three suspects in connection with the killing.
He added that Gachamba would be charged as investigations on the other two continue.
The MP was murdered on Saturday alongside his bodyguards Samuel Kimathi and Lekakeni Matanta and driver Stephen Kimathi on Kenyatta Avenue, Nairobi.
The motive for the murder is yet to be known, even though president Uhuru Kenyatta said that his murder is linked to his fight against corruption.
