20 year old man commits suicide

12 February 2013, 13:45Alloys Musyoka

Police officers in Malindi district have launched investigations into the mysterious death of a 20 year old man who was found dead in his house in Kisumundogo village on Monday morning.

The deceased was found dangling from the roof of the house he had rented with his colleague in the tourist town.

His colleague said he went home and found the door of their room closed from inside during the day and decided not to interrupt his friend whom he thought was resting on Sunday afternoon.

The man who refused to be named said he then went back at night at around 10:00 pm and still found the door locked from inside before he informed his neighbors to help him find out what was going on.

They were shocked after breaking into the room when they found the young man dangling from the roof.

Unconfirmed reports indicated that the deceased had differences with his girlfriend and that could have been the reason he decided to commit suicide.

They suspected that he had committed suicide but police said they are investigating the matter since the circumstances surrounding the death were not clear.

Malindi deputy police chief Samson Ogero said the body of the deceased had no injuries and so they were keenly trying to find out what exactly killed the man.

"The man had a rope around his neck which was tied on the roof and he was dangling over his bed but there were no injuries so our investigations have started to investigate the cause of the death and those who might be behind it," he noted.

The body of the deceased was later taken to Malindi Star private hospital.
