Nairobi - 20 students are in custody over the Stephjoy Boys boarding school fire that saw 2 killed.
The 20 were picked up by police Monday to answer to questions by police over the arson that left two students dead and over 10 injured.
They were being held at the Tigoni Police Station in Limuru.
" We have the students with us and they are cooperating," a detective handling the matter told News24 on condition he not be named.
The names of the dead students have also been released. They are Ian Kamau and Edwin Mugo, form two students, 15 and 16 years of age respectively.
The school proprietor Joyce Mugambi was in utter shock.
" The action is shocking. That we have lost two innocent lives in this manner is sad and I hope police come to the bottom of the matter," she said in disbelief.
The motive of the arson is still yet to be known even though there have been similar incidences in a number of Counties in the country in recent months.
Education CS Jacob Kaimenyi was forced to ban mock examinations last week due to the incidences, which have been blamed on unrest thanks to pressure related to the exams.
