16-year-old beaten to death in love triangle

02 April 2015, 14:41 Arap Yego

Nairobi - A family in Nairobi's Kayole estate is mourning the death of their 16-year-old son who was killed after he was allegedly found talking to another man’s lover.

The deceased Sharriff Omondi was reportedly beaten up by three men known to him on Sunday evening, after he was found talking to the woman at a kiosk in Matopeni area at around 10pm .

The three men escaped after the attack, leaving Omondi for the dead.

He was rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival at the medical facility.

Kayole Area OCPD Ali Nuno confirmed the incident and said a manhunt for the suspects behind the teenager’s murder has been launched.

“My officers rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital after the incident was reported to us and found the victims lifeless body lying on the floor,” he told News24.

The police boss explained that the body had injuries on the head and neck which must have been inflicted by a blunt object.

He said no one has been arrested in relation to the incident, but stressed that they are known people, who will be arrested very soon.

“Those who committed the crime are well known people in the estate. We are asking members of the public with information on their whereabouts to share the same with police, and assist us in apprehending the suspects who are on the run,” he said.
