Nyeri - A squad of 16 Administration Police (AP) officers on Wednesday morning escaped death by a whisker following a road accident at Classic area along Nyeri-Othaya road.

The officers were heading to Nyeri town for a scheduled briefing by their bosses before their Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle collided head on with a lorry ferrying bread.

Three officers were serious injured while 13 others sustained minor injuries.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the police vehicle was trying to avoid hitting another saloon car when the accident happened.
