Nairobi - 156 leaders have quit the ruling Jubilee Party for ODM.
The leaders from Kajiado East Constituency have shifted form Jubilee to ODM in a move that is said to be informed by the arrogance shown by Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery towards them.
In moving to ODM, they said that they would fight hard to ensure that the region votes for Raila Odinga wholeheartedly.
" We are accepting these leaders with open arms and are confident that they are happy here and will do positive things for this party," Judy Pareno who is the ODM elections chief told News24 in Nairobi when welcoming them.
She accused the Jubilee Party and especially Nkaissery of using divisive tactics against the community.
" Nkaissery should stop acting like the Maasai spokesperson. No one has appointed him to that position,"she added.
The move comes just a few days after the burial of former Maasai kingpin William Ole Ntimama turned ugly with heated conversation over the direction the Maasai community should take ahead of the 2017 elections.
