Bungoma - Police in Bungoma have arrested 14 youths and recovered an assortment of items after conducting a raid on Wednesday night.

Bungoma South acting OCPD Tom Okoth, said they conducted the raid in the evening after being informed of criminal activities around Bondeni Estate in town.

“Police officers conducted a raid last night and managed to arrest youth who were holed up in a pool playing joint. They recovered an assortment of illicit alcohol, electronics and various items from them. We have taken them in for questioning,” he said.

The police boss said that five of the arrested youths were students in various secondary schools and should have been in school.

He said parents should be careful and closely monitor the movement of their children and ensure that they are either in school or at home doing meaningful duties.

“We are surprised that five of those arrested are students. We are questioning them on what they were doing there at that particular time,” said Okoth
