Nairobi - 13 Governors have been named in a corruption report released by the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commision EACC.
The list of corrupt officials was tabled and released officially at the Senate Tuesday in a bid to stop the excess wastage of public funds that has been seen in recent times.
The 13 include Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero, his Mombasa counterpart Ali Hassan Joho, Meru's Peter Munya, Bomet's Isaac Ruto, Narok's Samuel Tunai and Alfred Mutua of Machakos.
Homa Bay's Cyprian Awiti, Turkana's Josephat Nanok, Kilifi's Jefferson Kingi, Isiolo's Godana Doyo, Migori's Okoth Obado, Garissa's Nathif Jama and Marsabit's Ukur Yatani complete the list.
The 13 have been named in the list for abuse of office, misappropriation of funds, embezzlement as well as nepotism and other offences.
Governors have already said that they will not resign from office as have other public officials implicated in the same graft report.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has said that Governors and other elected officials must resign from office to pave way for investigations.
