12 men gang-rape woman in Vihiga

Nairobi - A middle aged woman has been admitted at Vihiga Hospital after being gang raped by unknown people who broke into her house at Givogi village, Gimomoi sub location, in Hamisi Sub County Vihiga County.
Area acting assistant chief Joshua Aluda who confirmed the incident said the gang struck at midnight and broke into two households.
He said the gang of 12 men took turns in raping the woman before stealing maize and mobile phones from the same house.
The female victim was rushed to Vihiga Hospital where she is receiving treatment for injuries sustained during the ordeal.
Earlier on, the thugs had broken into another house stealing a radio set, a mobile phone and KES 4000.

Their attempt to gain entry into the third house was thwarted after the owner raised alarm and switched on the security lights.
Aluda said the thugs are being sought by the police and he is confident that quick arrests will be made to bring the criminals to face the law.
He has appealed to residents to be vigilant and issue any information that might lead to the arrest of the gang.
