100 Mungiki, Gaza members arrested in Nairobi

Nairobi - Over 100 suspected members of illegal groups Mungiki Sect ad Gaza have been arrested in Nairobi.
They were arrested in Kayole area Tuesday and taken to a Nairobi court for partaking in illegal activities and gatherings.
They were arrested following a tip off from members of the public.
According to Kayole OCPD Ali Nuno, 24 of the 100 are Mungiki Sect members and the rest from Gaza.
" We were alerted by members of the public and in the process apprehended some suspects who are Mungiki members and others from the Gaza sect," he told News24.
" Some were booked Wednesday and others will be taken to court Thursday morning," he added.
Nuno also said that Mungiki had effected a change in their operational style thus making them harder to trace.
" They are changed and are different. They are not the old Mungiki but we will still try get to them," he added.
