10 Al Shabaab suspects, 2 suicide bombers arrested

Nairobi - 10 members of the Al Shabaab terror group, including two female suicide bombers have been arrested by police, inspector general David Kimaiyo has said.
Kimaiyo made the announcement Wednesday in Nairobi, saying the 10 had been arrested after a thorough security operation carried out in the city.
According to the IG, the 10 were arrested after sneaking back into the country after initially leaving the country in October.
He says that they were planning attacks within the city and its environs at the time of their arrest.
Their identities too would according to the IG be revealed in due course following continued investigations into the matter.

He also urged landlords to be wary of their tenants in order to block out cases of terrorists infiltrating and living in society.
Kimaiyo made the announcement following increased scrutiny by members of the public on police activities and ability after complaints that police are yet to arrest a solid terrorist in connection with attacks that have been taking place in the country.
" The operations are ongoing and we are on high alert," Kimaiyo said last month when commenting on the lack of arrests made in connection with killings in Lamu county.
This year alone, close to 200 Kenyans have died from terror related activities, with the al Shabaab taking responsibility for majority of attacks on the country's soil.
