Nairobi - 1 million condoms will be distributed in Nairobi ahead of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit GES 2015 which takes place over the weekend.
Activist Stanley Ngara has said that the influx of commercial sex workers in the city looking to service the high number of visitors in the country during the GES will need to have condoms to use to ensure that there is no spread of sexually transmitted diseases.
Ngara told News24 Monday that he will distribute the condoms at strategic places, including the city streets, to prevent the spread of STD's during the GES which will be held between July 24 and 26.
" It is imperative that we are able to ensure Kenyans and the visitors to the summit are safe during their stay," he said.
He also added that he had distributed 14,000 condoms Sunday at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre KICC.
" We distributed 14,000 Sunday and they were all quickly taken," he added.
The GES will be opened over the weekend by US President Barrack Obama and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
