Maranello, Italy - Ferrari has been testing its hottest 458 yet in Maranello, Italy. Spy photographers captured images of the new 458 Monte Carlo ahead of its debut at the 2013 Frankfurt International Motor Show.
The hotter version of the 458 Italia could receive the Scuderia moniker when it’s launched later in 2013. The camouflaged prototype barely hides the changes Ferrari has in store for the meaner 458 Monte Carlo.
At the front, you can spot a more assertive front bumper with air-inlets. The model has lowered ride height and new alloys with wider tyres. Other changes include an air-inlet in front of the rear wheels, dual exhausts, racing stripes and tweaked rear bumper.
The Ferrari 458 Monte Carlo/Scuderia will be around 100kg lighter than the Italia and should pack an extra 22kW for a total of 447kW derived from its V8 4.5 petrol.
The increase in power translates to a 0-100km/h sprint in less than 3.4 seconds and a top speed of more than 325 km/h.
