Abu Dhabi - The BMW Group has opened the world’s largest showroom in Abu Dhabi for its four brands.
Abu Dhabi Motors invested around AED 300 million (about KES 7 billion) in the new 35 000 m2 showroom that now houses BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce cars and BMW motorcycles.
The facility in Umm Al Nar will employ more than 450 staff members and will have more than 70 vehicles and 10 motorcycles on permanent display. A pre-owned showroom and a state-of-the-art service area with a 120-vehicle capacity are also on site.
The showroom also has a retail area selling a selection of BMW and Mini fashion items and other merchandise, accessories and original parts. A private cinema, café and children’s play area are on site for those wishing to extend their visit to the dealership.
The BMW Group achieved a new sales record in the Middle East in 2011. A total of 18 657 BMW and MINI vehicles were sold last year in the region’s 14 import markets and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) accounted for more than 47% of deliveries.
