A patient in Florida says his penis was deformed by a former surgeon who did not have a license to operate.
Multiple media outlets report that 60-year-old Mark D. Schreiber was arrested Friday on a charge of unlicensed practice of health care, causing serious injury.
Police say the unidentified patient paid Schreiber in February to remove a material, reported to be filler, that had been injected into his organ to make it longer and thicker.
Authorities say the man who performed the initial procedures, 48-year-old Nery C. Gonzalez, is wanted on the same charge.
The patient says his penis is now severely deformed. The Sun-Sentinal reports that the botched surgery left the man with a deformed, one-inch-long penis and unable to have sex. one-inch-long penis and unable to have sex.
The victim told police he was given five unknown pills as sedation, passed out, and remembered little until he awoke at home the next morning to find his penis swathed in blood-soaked bandages.
The man removed the bandages to find he had been "mutilated," according to the warrant. "The victim's penis was now incredibly small, yet very swollen and the skin around the shaft had been removed and was raw," the warrant said.
Schreiber was given a two-year sentence in 2008 on similar charges of unlicensed practicing. It's unclear if he has an attorney.
According to the Sun-Sentinal, investigators found home breast implants and other items indicating "he may have been doing clandestine surgeries on other people who don't know or who don't care about his history," said Sgt. Carl Zogby of the Hialeah Police Department.
