3 great ways to manage diabetes

Abuja - Living with diabetes can be a struggle, but there are certain lifestyle changes that could help stabilise the condition and improve your life, Women's Health reports.

Eat early
Starting your day with a big, healthy breakfast could reduce your risk for diabetes, researchers from Tel Aviv University found. Their research showed people who ate large breakfasts had lower levels of insulin, glucose and triglycerides.

Get stacked
Research has found that weight training can particularly be of benefit for people living with type-1 diabetes. The American Diabetes Association found resistance training lowers blood glucose levels and keeps it level better than aerobic exercises.

Snip snip
It may be a bit drastic, but the South African Society for Obesity and Metabolism found that gastric bypass surgery puts type-2 diabetes into long term remission. Yes, it is the same procedure used to help obese people lose weight and it is of course a massive surgery and should only be considered as a last resort.
