Nairobi - The new video by Kenyan rapper Collo featuring Norway based Stl and singer Mimmo - Floss Na Wewe is officially out and the trio delivered.
The trio's collabo was unexpected yet different as it is a departure from the usual Kapuka style that many fans associate Kenyan music with.
Speaking to News24 Kenya, Collo said that "you can't serve someone just Githeri every day, you have to add kachumbari...to spice it up." The King of Rap attributed the different sound of Floss Na Wewe to a fusion of Jazz, Afro pop, some Reggae elements and hiphop as he experimented to offer his fan base something new.
As one watches the video, you get to notice the various dance styles and fashion in play to reflect the trios various sounds and fusion of genres in the track.
The track's idea came to Collo and he decided to share and work with STL who is a force to reckon with as a lady Emcee, known to many locally and internationally and soften it with sexy singer Mimmo's vocals.
"It was a team effort," Collo was quick to add as producing a track is no mean task and takes more than just the talented artists.
Kenya music industry has come a long way, from when Collo entered the scene with his then group Kleptomaniacs, but he has now curved his solo career and is keeping it fresh with more collabos in the works that promises to be unpredictable and "...off track".
Collo wrapped it up by saying as a performer one has to be versatile and needs to push one self both in the studio and on stage so as to keep delivering good music.
For now have a look at the following YouTube video of Floss Na Wewe by Collo ft STL and Mimmo.
