Senator Sonko mourns his father’s death

Nairobi - Nairobi Senator, Mike Mbuvi Sonko is bereaved.

Sonko’s father died Sunday evening at the Nairobi Hospital where he was undergoing treatment for an undisclosed condition.

The vibrant Senator announced his father’s death Sunday via twitter: “We all loved him but GOD loved him more than us. Mzee has just left us. Continue praying for our family and all those in similar situations.”

Following his loss, Kenyans and political leaders took to social media to convey their condolences.

The Deputy President, William Ruto said through a Facebook post: “My condolences to the family of Senator Mike Sonko on the loss of your father. May the Almighty God give you strength and comfort during this time of sorrow.”

Another leader, Peter Kenneth also sent his condolences via twitter: "@MikeSonko Ndugu, poleni sana (My brother Sonko, we are very sorry). Mzee was a Gentleman and always had time for me. My prayers and thoughts are with you and the Family."
