Los Angeles - Rihanna has landed a role in the sixth The Fast and the Furious film. The singer - who recently saw her first movie part in Battleship, based on the popular boardgame - will play the villain in the film, which will star Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Vin Diesel. 'Step up the ladder' A source told The Sun newspaper: "Rihanna impressed with her acting debut in Battleship. Writers think she will be perfect for the role. Her character has plenty of bite and doesn't take any prisoners - just like her in real life. "It's a step up the ladder for her and could lead to bigger action roles." The film will be set in London, meaning the singer could be spending time in the British capital as soon as next month. Some scenes will also be shot in Essex while London is unavailable due to the 2012 Olympic Games. Rihanna previously revealed she won the role in Battleship purely by swearing at the director Peter Berg. She said: "He told me to say, 'I'm going to get you, motherfucker and he had me saying the craziest stuff right on the spot and he said, 'Yeah, I think you are perfect.'"
