ReelAfrican and Zuku partner to boost college basketball

ReelAfrican.com and Kenyan pay TV provider Zuku partner to bring “BaQe”—a dynamic new show focusing on the high-octane Kenya university basketball league, the KUBL—to global audiences.

ReelAfrican.com offers African & Caribbean film & TV entertainment content in the United States, and thus the move will provide a platform for local talent to shine on an international stage.

Zuku began sponsoring the league, now dubbed the ZUBL, and gave it a complete makeover. Running 26 weeks through the 2013 season, the half-hour weekly show "BAQE" is is co-hosted by well-known entertainer Davidson Ngibuini (aka DNG)and rising star Silalei, who is captain of the Kenyan women's national basketball team and a leading scorer on the Eagle Wings.

“BaQe”  also features "The Professor", BosireBogonko, who offers analyses of games and players, and a treasure trove of valuable tips for those looking to improve their game.

"BAQE" is a Swahili slang term for basketball and the wider culture of basketball. The name suggests how the show delves into the culture, characters and supporters behind this explosive, wildly popular sport. Now in partnership with ReelAfrican, the Zuku-produced series that will bring its insights into Africa’s rising basketball culture to a global audience.

The BAQE series can be viewed for free online at ReelAfrican.com and on partner sites Hulu and YouTube, in addition to more of the best in African films, TV series, and documentaries, free and in HD.
