Nairobi - According to the Daily Nation reports, Kenya Copyrights Board legal counsel Edward Sigei revealed on Thursday that of the 10 songs played in Kenya, nine are pirated or broadcast without the singer earning any shilling.
Neither the artist or producers behind the tracks benefit as more than 79% of all artistic work used in the country are either fake or are not.
Sigei was speaking during a music open day and proposed that the law guarding intellectual property rights be amended to instil stiffer penalties to offenders.
