BBA The Chase is on

28 May 2013, 12:22 Maureene Danielle

Nairobi - For the next three months Africa will be watching as 28 housemates from 14 countries battle it out for  $300,000, and many wonder if this time round a woman will clinch the title.

The Big Brother Africa show, The Chase launched on Sunday, is produced by Endemol SA and headline sponsored by Airtel, and will see the housemates pair up to share two houses; Diamonds and Rubies.

The show’s producers promised new twists and turns in the game and more interactions for the viewers.

As was revealed on Sunday, according to DSTV by the show’s host IK, there will be a special prize up for grabs for the housemate who will bring the most romance into the house. This aspect of the show should see some interesting pairings up, and create for drama on the show.

Last season’s biggest romance saw Kenya’s representative rapper CMB Prezzo hooking up with the late Nigerian star Goldie Harvey as their romance went on even after the show drew to an end, before her death.

This time round fans will be keen to see if the Kenyan Nigerian connection shall be maintained or will Kenya be seeking to further its ties with other regional neighbours.

Kenya is represented by controversial model and socialite Kenyan housemate Huddah Monroe, who apparently had a fling with former BBA Africa housemate Prezzo. Prezzo was last season’s first runner up, thus the pressure is on to see how she will fare.

Little known Fashion designer Annabel Mbaru is the other Kenyan face and she too has promised to be entertaining.

Huddah is already up for eviction with seven nominations in the diamonds house. She is no stranger to controversy; remember her nude pictures doing rounds. The Boss Lady has already hit the ground running as she fights to remain in the house.

Further afield, in Nigeria who clinched the crown last season, we have two models joining The Chase.

According to Big Brother bio profiles, Lagos based underwear model and video vixen Ada Beverly Osu who describes herself as “smart, sexy, humble, loyal and crazy”, and Melvin Oduah also a model and actor from Delta State.

Already Beverly is asserting herself and getting known as she emerged this week as head of the Rubies house.

Only time will tell who shall take the dollars home as Africa will again be glued to the reality series.

Will the divas be able to stay in harmony; remember we have several beauty queens in the house and it seems the gentlemen will have an uphill task trying to stay relevant this time round.

Tune in this Sunday to see who Africa will be voting out of the house.
