London - British police are asking Australian officials to determine if any laws were broken when two Australian DJs impersonated Queen Elizabeth II and her son as they phoned a London hospital in December to ask about the condition of the Duchess of Cambridge, who had been hospitalised for treatment of acute morning sickness.
A nurse who spoke to the DJs hung herself three days after the prank was broadcast globally.
UK prosecutors have declined to press charges against the two.
Scotland Yard said on Wednesday it is passing a file to the Australian Federal Police and New South Wales Police Station and requesting that consideration be given as to whether any offences were committed under their laws.
