ICT identifies Innovation as a key driver of economic development

Nairobi – The Cabinet Secretary of Information, Communications and Technology (ICT), Joe Mucheru pin pointed innovation as being a defining factor driving economic development.

According to Presidential
Strategic Communications (PSCU) during a three-day workshop organised by the
Grand Challengers Africa in the capital, Mucheru stated that innovations must
be supported and celebrated.
Mucheru identified three innovators
who have come up with ways in which to create awareness and sensitise Kenyans
on issues such as HIV/Aids and water purification.
He touched on the
importance of public and private partnerships in order to promote innovations
and alleviate risk assessment in essential investments.
These essential investments
have been identified in the realm of science and technology.
The three-day workshop
brought together over 500 science innovators from across the world.
