WATCH: M-Pesa customers to receive free monthly statements

28 January 2016, 15:37

Nairobi- M-Pesa customers will now be able to receive their monthly statements for free via email, following the launch of a new service by Safaricom.

The telecommunications firm has been offering free mini statements via the USSD *234#.

After placing the request, Safaricom sends an SMS with details of the last 5 transactions by the customer.

However, following the transfer of their servers from Germany to Kenya, Safaricom has now extended this service to include transactions conducted in the previous months.

To access monthly statements via email, subscribers will be required to set up the automatic monthly statements every 5th day of the month, KTN reports.

Subscribers have also had the option of visiting Safaricom shops across the country to print their statement, which Daily Nation says has been attracting more than 30 000 subscribers monthly.

The new new move is aimed at improving service delivery to customers.
