Uhuru lauds excellent Kenya Airways

07 April 2014, 15:04

Nairobi - President Uhuru Kenyatta lauded the impact made by national carrier Kenya Airways on the country's economy and status following the arrival of the new dreamliner.

Kenya Airways had the first of nine Boeing 787 dreamliner planes delivered over the weekend as it aims to modernize its fleet in the highly competitive aviation industry.

And with improved service delivery as well as a growing presence, president Kenyatta has lauded the airline for its improvement as well as the good image about Kenya that it is spreading all over the world.

" It is indeed great to see a company that started small grow to this level and deliver such huge success, he said whilst welcoming the arrival of the new plane Saturday.

" The image that the country has in the outside world is summed up by companies such as Kenya Airways and I urge them to continue in their excellence, the president said.

CEO Titus Naikuni said that the company would continue to look for ways of ensuring growth of the aviation sector here in Kenya to world class standards.

" We have waited long for the arrival of this plane and we continue to look forward to the arrival of the rest of the planes, he said.

Naikuni further said that the company will continue to strive for growth in uncharted territories as well as exploring new areas if growth.
