Uganda's lending rate remains unchanged

Kampala - Uganda's central bank kept its benchmark lending rate unchanged at 23 percent in December, central bank governor Emmanuel Tumusiime-Mutebile said on Friday, unlike neighbouring Kenya.
The governor said there were clear signs that inflation had peaked. Uganda's inflation has slowed down for the first time since June, falling to 29 percent in November from 30.4 percent in October.
