Nairobi - Kris Senanu, the Managing Director for Access Kenya’s internet business, has assumed two roles following his appointment as Access Kenya Group Deputy Chief Executive Officer.
Senanu will retain his current role as MD for Access Kenya’s internet arm as well as assume the added responsibilities which include driving the company’s marketing strategy and regional expansion strategy.
“Senanu has great experience and skills to lead this expansion, our goal is to maintain our position as the leading provider of Corporate Internet and IT Solutions as we push forward with our strategic growth,” said Jonathan Somen, Access Kenya’s Group CEO, said.
Senanu has more than 20 years in the telecommunications and internet service industry, of which the last 13 years have been with Access Kenya.
In August 2013, Access Kenya was acquired by Dimension Data, the US$ 5.8 billion global solutions and services provider, for Sh 3 billion.
At the time Dimension Data said that the acquisition of AccessKenya was in line with Dimension Data’s goal to pursue a strategy of expansion in sub-Saharan Africa.
Meanwhile, Access Kenya outlined its expansion plans.
“In addition to reviewing and evaluating the market for suitable opportunities that can enhance our business model; we are looking at new products to meet customer demand. We are also extending our fibre cable in Nairobi and the city limits, as well as in the Northern and Southern Coast of Kenya,” said Somen.
The network rollout includes wireless service expansion throughout the country which is expected to bring 15 new Counties onto Access Kenya’s wireless, metro and national fibre infrastructure this year.
