Safaricom invests KES 1bn in housing

Nairobi - Safaricom Investment Co-operative (SIC) on Thursday unveiled a housing project worth KES 1 billion, CapitalFM reports.
The project is aimed at addressing the rising demand for gated community housing in Kenya and comprises 2 and 3 bedroom units.
According to Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore, the 1st phase will be ready in September 2014 and the 2nd phase at the end of 2015.
