SAA flights to Kenya not cancelled

Cape Town - It is still unclear exactly how SAA flights to and from Kenya have been affected by a fire that gutted part of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, but so far no flights have been cancelled.
South African Airways spokesman Tlali Tlali told eNCA.com that the airline was in contact with Kenya officials to assess the situation.
"We have not cancelled any flights. There is a delay of approximately one hour at the moment," he said, adding that delays could either be worsened or eased, depending on the damage sustained at the airport.
SAA posted the following update on their Facebook page:
"SAA would like to inform all our customers and stakeholders that due to the fire at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, some of our operations to and from Nairobi have been affected. The relevant SAA departments are busy assessing the overall impact the fire will and has had on SAA operations. SAA will provide a more thorough statement later this morning."
A thorough update on SAA flights will follow shortly.

According to a Twitter account believed to be that of an official from the Kenyan Interior ministry, all inbound flights were being rerouted to Mombasa and Eldoret airports.
